Title: Business Development Executive
Reports to: Director of PCG
Location: Cambridge, MA
Purpose of the job:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Business Development Executive to actively sell and market the BBC Monitoring Library to institutions worldwide.
Key responsibilities:
The role will actively source, negotiate with and directly sell to customers and prospects to individual libraries as well as library consortia; providing renewal and account management for the BBC Monitoring Library, actively set up and manage trials and develop marketing messages to drive sales forward.
Core tasks:
The Business Development Executive is responsible for all aspects of direct marketing and sales of the BBC Monitoring Site including:
- Meeting and exceeding agreed revenue targets for BBC Monitoring
- Create and develop Target list of institutions in North America, UK, and Europe for promotion
- Promote signup for online trials by institutional libraries and follow-up with promotion to subscribe.
- Telepromotion and trial set up, follow up
- Project Management on customer feedback of the BBC Monitoring Site
- Closing the sale
- After Sales Customer service and follow-up
- Promotion follow-up to expired subscribers
- Using Mailing lists and Listservs for direct mail promotion to individuals and libraries
- Provide monthly reports to BBC Monitoring on promotion and marketing activities
Special tasks:
- Inform the project team about Market requirements of the website
- Link up to the BBC on the subscription process and any functionality and content questions.
- Association meetings to consider for exhibit/advertising/promotion opportunities
- Order mailing lists for use in direct mail to faculty members.
- Library visits and/or visits to Consortia
- Design and produce marketing materials for direct mail to individuals and institutions and carry out mailings to US, Europe, and UK.
- Coordinate submission of materials for display at mutually agreed exhibits and conferences across the appropriate disciplines.
