The Geological Society of London Selects PCG to Provide North American Sales Representation

Cambridge, MA , Novmeber 10, 2008

Publishers Communication Group (PCG), the leading provider of research, sales and marketing services to scholarly and professional publishers, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Geological Society of London, to expand its relationships and improve penetration in the North American library market. In January, PCG will appoint and manage a sales representative to develop opportunities for GSL’s Lyell collection as well as its individual leading journal titles.

PCG has continued its rapid growth in recent years, with more than twenty publishers choosing its sales representation and market research services in 2007. “Publishers choose to work with us because they know they can trust us to understand their strategic objectives and to translate these into concrete results,” comments Director of Content Sales Claire Ginn Winthrop. “Our proven services and dynamic team becomes an extension of their internal one ensuring that GSL’s investment in targeting new markets is optimised, and that their prestigious publications gain visibility in this major market.”

“Throughout the selection process, we were impressed by PCG’s deep experience working with the library market and ability to develop tailored a solution to meet our specific needs,” notes Neal Marriott. “A strong North American presence is vital for us, and we are confident that this can be successfully achieved through this partnership.”

By December, PCG will announce the appointment of an experienced sales professional in North America to deliver high-quality service and develop business opportunities on behalf of the Geological Society of London.
